For some, there is no home left. CGMA CEO, Brooke Millard, notes, “today, I heard from one of the crewmembers who was at sea during the storm. Her family’s home has been condemned by FEMA. They must vacate today and no rental units are available.”

- [Breastmilk Shipment Grant](https://mycgma.org/programs/breastmilk-shipment-grant/): Since 2019, CGMA has been dedicated to supporting Coast Guard families by helping with the shipment of breastmilk for nursing mothers. While the government now covers the cost for Active Duty members, CGMA continues to offer Breastmilk Shipment Grants to all other eligible Coast Guard members and spouses. This grant ensures that breastfeeding parents can maintain their supply and support their child’s nutritional needs, no matter the distance or circumstances.
- [Stafford/PLUS Loan Fee Grant](https://mycgma.org/programs/stafford-plus/): Many families rely on Federal Stafford Loans or Federal Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) to finance higher education. CGMA helps ease the financial burden by offering a grant to reimburse the mandatory loan fee, which can be as high as 4%. This grant helps reduce upfront costs, making the loan process more manageable. CGMA reserves the right to limit the grant amount, with a maximum combined total of up to $4,000 per individual.
- [Working Animal Grant](https://mycgma.org/programs/working-animal-grant/): After years of dedicated service to the Coast Guard, the 18 working dogs that serve alongside our members deserve continued care and support in retirement. Inspired by Feco, a Hungarian Vizsla who served for nine years as a Marine Safety and Security Team canine, CGMA’s Working Animal Grant provides up to $1,500 per year for medical insurance to ensure these loyal animals receive the care they need in retirement. Additionally, the grant covers cremation expenses at the end of their lives, honoring their years of service and sacrifice.
