Donor Privacy Policy
We will not sell, share, or trade our donors’ personal information with any other entity. We will not send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations. Personal information includes names, emails, addresses, and phone numbers. This policy applies to information received by any electronic, written, or oral communications.
Information Collected Directly from You
CGMA collects your personally identifiable information when you voluntarily submit it, such as when donating or requesting assistance. We will use this information to contact you and acknowledge your donation. When you donate in honor or memory of another person, we will inform others you name of your kindness. We also use the information for mailing campaigns. Other information collected is only used for its intended purpose such as processing a credit card donation or establishing a pay allotment from military active duty or retirement pay. We acknowledge the support of donors who contribute $500 or more annually by publishing only their names in our Annual Report. You can request to donate anonymously on the contribution form, and that request will always be honored.
When you request assistance, CGMA will use your personal information only to provide you with the services you have requested. This may include requesting information to establish eligibility and need (per IRS requirements of providing charitable assistance) and to collect payments on interest-free loans.
Information Collected Automatically
We also collect non-personal information about our online visitors using cookies, pixels, web beacons, and other technologies that operate automatically when you visit our website. We use this information to give our website visitors a more relevant online experience and to help us make website improvements. This information is also used to serve you with interest-based advertising. We may share this information with third-party advertising partners who help us deliver these ads to you.
We obtain information about our online visitors from other sources as well. For example, we engage vendors that provide contact information and other data. We use this data to help us engage with people who may be interested in learning about CGMA.
Protecting Personally Identifiable Information
Coast Guard Mutual Assistance works to protect its clients and supporters through the implementation of management, operational, and technical security controls that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the personally identifiable information.
If you submit your personal information through our website, data in transit is protected using modern encryption methods.
Security and Consent Notice
The CGMA computer system, (including all related equipment, networks, devices, and specifically including Internet access there to) are provided for the express use of CGMA employees, volunteers, donors, and clients. CGMA may monitor its system for all lawful purposes, to insure authorized use, and for management of its system. During such monitoring, information may be examined, recorded, copied and used for authorized security procedures. All information sent to this site, including personal information, may be monitored.
The unauthorized use of CGMA’s computer system may result in administrative action or criminal prosecution. Use of CGMA’s computer system (either authorized or unauthorized) constitutes consent to monitoring of this system and the information obtained thereby.
