Carlie
As a new Coast Guard spouse Carlie moved away from her beloved small Maine hometown to bustling and humid Miami. Adjusting to military life with a cross-country move was complicated due to her health condition, epilepsy.
Stationed on a cutter and pursuing various trainings, her husband has been away for much of their first months of marriage. The need for a helper and support for Carlie was clear: “We have finally welcomed our new bundle of joy, Sully, my service dog. He is incredibly smart, and I’m sure it’ll be no time before he will start helping to sense my seizures and help with my epilepsy.”
I have wanted to get a service dog for a very long time. The reason that we weren’t ever able to get a dog before is because of the cost.
