Get Funds
If my assistance application is approved, how will I get the money?
See below for details on the transfer methods.
Once the promissory note is signed, please allow up to 48 hours for the funds to be deposited into your account.
ACH Bank Transfer
- Enter your bank account and routing number securely on the CGMA Portal.
- Double and triple check the numbers you are entering, so that your money doesn’t go to the wrong account.
- DO NOT send the account and routing numbers in an email, as this is not secure.
- No further action is required. Your bank may or may not send you a confirmation email.
Zelle (Returning Users)
- On your application, enter the email address you have used with Zelle or that you use to login to your bank.
- You will get a confirmation email from your bank.
Zelle (First Time Users)
- You must have a bank that accepts Zelle transfers. Check your bank’s website or zellepay.com
- On your application, enter the email address that you use to login to your bank (not your uscg.mil email).
- You will get an email from Zelle with instructions on how to claim funds. Check your spam folder if it is not in your inbox.
- You MUST follow the instructions within 14 days, or the money will be returned to CGMA.
Third-Party Payment
- In some circumstances, you may want to have money sent directly to a business that you owe.
- For example, if your bank account balance is negative and your rent is overdue, CGMA can make a payment directly to your landlord.
- Ask your CGMA Representative to set up a third-party payment. This option is not available on your application.
- Ask the third-party company for their bank account and routing numbers.
Paper Check
- You can get your money the old-fashioned way with a paper check sent from CGMA-HQ.
- Note that the check will be mailed and will take a few days to arrive.
