Annual Campaign Update: Standing with Our Total Workforce

In a year defined by uncertainty, Coast Guard Mutual Assistance is doing what it has always done: showing up for the Coast Guard community when it matters most.

To ensure we remain focused on immediate needs, CGMA’s Annual Campaign will now run August 1 through September 30. This shift allows us to prioritize support for civilian employees and families still feeling the effects of the recent government shutdown.

Because while pay may have resumed, the impact didn’t simply disappear.

In the wake of the shutdown, CGMA responded to more than 700 requests for assistance, delivering over $1.7 million in direct support to help Coast Guard families cover essential needs like housing, food, transportation, and more. For many, financial strain continues well beyond the headlines.

That’s why we’re staying focused on what matters most: Helping our own.

At the same time, we want to recognize the incredible support already coming from across our community.

If you are a retiree, Auxiliarist, or long-time supporter, you may have recently received a letter in the mail. The response so far has been extraordinary, a record number of early contributions, and it’s making a real difference for families navigating ongoing challenges.

CGMA’s Annual Campaign is a once-a-year effort to reconnect the Coast Guard community with who we are, what we do, and how we’re funded. It raises nearly half of CGMA’s annual donations, fueling grants and interest-free loans that keep short-term financial challenges from becoming long-term problems.
