CGMA Launches 2026 Annual Campaign

Support for Coast Guard Members and Families

Coast Guard Mutual Assistance’s 2026 Annual Fundraising Campaign is now underway through Sept. 30, inviting all to help CGMA support the Coast Guard community in times of financial hardship.

As the official relief society of the U.S. Coast Guard, CGMA provides grants and interest-free loans to help members of the Coast Guard workforce navigate unexpected financial challenges. In recent years, those challenges have ranged from government shutdowns to natural disasters to out-of-pocket PCS costs and debt management.

In 2025, CGMA provided $12.1 million in grants and interest-free loans to more than 4,000 Coast Guard families. During government shutdowns in 2025 and 2026, the organization delivered more than $3.6 million in assistance to over 1,400 civilian employees; CGMA remains the only military aid society that supports its Services’ federal civilian workers

This year, CGMA provided $150,000 to Coast Guard shoreside personnel stationed in Bahrain who evacuated unexpectedly, many who were unable to pack a seabag. Each member received a $500 grant to pay for essentials like toiletries, a uniform, and shoes. CGMA also delivered over $130,000 in grants to Oceania Coast Guard members affected by Typhoons Sinlaku and Bavi.

Yet CGMA’s impact extends well beyond major events. On average, CGMA delivers $38,000 in assistance each day; rental assistance continues to be a top program across the Service.

CGMA’s support is intended to not only address immediate needs, but to also prevent a temporary financial setback from becoming a long-term hardship. By helping members and families regain financial stability, CGMA supports workforce readiness and helps Coast Guard members stay mission focused.

Sustaining a Coast Guard Resource

Despite statutory designation as the Coast Guard’s official relief society, CGMA receives zero government funding. That’s why CGMA’s Annual Campaign is so important.

This year’s Annual Campaign goal is donors, not dollars. The best way to support the Campaign is to start an allotment. CGMA has made it incredibly easy to do so: just two clicks on our website (no Direct Access needed!). Anyone who receives a Coast Guard paycheck can start an allotment, including Retirees, Civilian Employees, and Active Duty personnel. Even a few dollars a month can make a meaningful difference when thousands of people choose to participate. Last year, every dollar raised during the Campaign went directly to Coast Guard members in need as grants.

The goal this year is 1,600 new allotment donors across the Coast Guard. Allotment donors are key to sustaining this amazing resource that is CGMA. Check out how your unit is doing on CGMA’s Annual Campaign Dashboard, updated daily: https://mycgma.org/give-help/annual-campaign/ Kudos to Sector Key West, Training Center Yorktown, and Station Woods Hole for leading the way!

Perhaps you prefer to provide a one-time donation to CGMA. You can do that here or send a check in the mail. Note: CGMA just moved to a new address 102 Sheridan Ave, Fort Myer, VA 22211.

Thank you!

Participation in CGMA’s Annual Campaign is always voluntary. Participation is also more than a donation. It is an investment in one another. It is a commitment to readiness. And it is how we live our mission of Helping Our Own. Thank you for supporting CGMA’s Annual Campaign!
