The CGMA Open: A First-Class Experience at an Exceptional Value

ALCOAST 235/26, which officially announced the 2026 CGMA Open, is out, but there is much more to this year’s tournament than could fit in one Coast Guard message.

The CGMA Open will be held November 10–12 at Reunion Resort & Golf Club in Kissimmee, Florida. Over three days, players will take on three championship courses designed by golf legends Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, and Jack Nicklaus.

For nearly 40 years, this tournament has brought members of the Coast Guard community together. The event continues to evolve, but its central purpose has remained the same: connection.

“We wanted to create an experience where everyone feels welcome,” said Jenna Nichols, CGMA’s Special Events Manager. “That includes the serious competitor coming with a foursome, the individual player registering on their own, and the family looking for a memorable getaway.”

Registration covers three days built around golf, hospitality, and time together.

Players get access to all three of Reunion Resort’s championship courses, with carts and range balls included. Breakfast and lunch are provided each tournament day. Off the course, guests can enjoy a welcome reception featuring a whiskey tasting thanks to charity partner Whiskey Valor and a wine tasting compliments of Rombauer Vineyards, and a closing awards banquet.

Each golfer will also receive a custom Swannies shirt, tournament gifts, access to discounted replay rates, and a FootJoy shopping experience.

This trip is the equivalent of booking three separate rounds, coordinating tee times across three championship courses, purchasing meals, and arranging activities for the family separately. At the CGMA Open, those details are handled, leaving golfers more time to enjoy the golf and the camaraderie.

The experience extends beyond the course.

Reunion Resort offers a five-acre water park with a lazy river and water slide, heated pools, tennis, pickleball, miniature golf, onsite dining, and plenty of space for families to relax while golfers are playing.

CGMA guests can reserve a two- or three-bedroom villa for $199 per night, plus applicable taxes. The rate covers the entire villa, not each guest. With space for four to six people, the cost comes to approximately $33 to $50 per person, per night when shared by a family or group.

The villas include full kitchens, multiple bedrooms, and spacious living areas, making it possible for families, couples, and groups of friends to stay together. Lodging is booked separately, and registered participants receive the official reservation link after completing tournament registration.

While CGMA has worked to build a premier resort experience, access remains a central priority.

“We want junior members to see themselves at this event, too,” said Alena Howard, CGMA’s Chief Development Officer. “Support from partners like Bollinger Shipyards helps ensure the CGMA Open brings together a true cross-section of the Coast Guard community.”

Through the 2026 CGMA Open Scholarship Program, Active Duty members E-6 and below may apply to have their tournament registration covered.

At the end of the day, it is about more than golf. It is about the people participants meet, the stories they share, and the relationships that continue long after the final putt.
