Help after Hurricane Helene

Hurricane Helene wrecked havoc across an 800 mile path in multiple states. Right now Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA) is assisting members affected by the storm. Many who had to evacuate, including those stationed on our cutters which provided off-shore search and rescue coverage during the event, just returned from sea to their homes to assess damage. For some, there is no home left. CGMA CEO, Brooke Millard, notes, “today, I heard from one of the crewmembers who was at sea during the storm. Her family’s home has been condemned by FEMA. They must vacate today and no rental units are available.”

CGMA cares and is here to help. All CGMA clients are eligible for disaster assistance— Coast Guard Active Duty, Civilian Employee, Reservist, Retiree, and Auxiliary members. For more information about Emergency Assistance, click here. To apply for Disaster Assistance, contact your CGMA Representative

CGMA Disaster and Emergency Relief helps our own, like the junior enlisted member who must replace their food after an extended power outage, the civilian employee who must pay an insurance deductible, and the Chief Petty Officer who must begin home repairs. In every case, CGMA helps a member devastated by the storm. Your donation makes an immediate positive impact on their recovery. To give towards the recovery effort, please donate here. With your support, our Coast Guard community can rely on CGMA and start to recover from this terrible storm.
