« Return to NewsCGMA Helps USCG Perry Family With Adoption Grant
Building a family brings meaningful milestones—and sometimes significant expenses. For the Perry family, Coast Guard Mutual Assistance was there to provide support as their family grew and their needs changed.
From adoption assistance with adopting twins to welcoming a new baby and pursuing educational goals, CGMA helped the family through several important chapters.
Growing Through Adoption
When the Perry family began the process of welcoming twins through adoption, CGMA provided an adoption grant to help with the associated expenses.
Adoption can involve numerous financial and logistical considerations before a child ever arrives home. CGMA’s adoption grant and adoption loan assistance can help ease some of that burden.
Support at Every Milestone
CGMA’s support did not end with the adoption.
When the Perry family later welcomed a new baby, CGMA provided a baby layette package with essential items for the child’s arrival. As education became part of the family’s next chapter, CGMA was also there with education support.
Each type of assistance addressed a different need, but together they demonstrated CGMA’s commitment to supporting Coast Guard families through the many stages of family life.
Beyond a Blessing
Chelsea reflected on what that continued support meant to her family:
“CGMA’s help has been beyond a blessing.”
For the Perry family, CGMA’s assistance was not limited to one event. It helped them welcome children, prepare for a new baby and move toward future educational goals.
Their experience shows how timely assistance can make important family milestones more manageable for members of the Coast Guard community.
This is the Power of CGMA. This is the Power of Us.
