Community Update: CGMA Ready to Help During Government Lapse

October 14, 2025

The Coast Guard has confirmed that military members will receive their mid-month paycheck for October 15, with deposits expected between October 15–17. Read the official announcement here.

CGMA continues to review and process requests for help. If the government shutdown continues and affects the November 1 paycheck, CGMA is ready to respond quickly to support our Coast Guard community.

Here’s how things will work now:

  • Active Duty: CGMA Headquarters will keep the shutdown loan application open. Applications already submitted will stay in their current status, but no funds will be sent at this time. This ensures we’re ready to move fast if November 1 pay is missed.
  • Civilian Employees: CGMA will continue to process and send payments through the shutdown loan program as usual.
  • All Other CGMA Programs: All other loans and grants are open and unaffected at this time. If you need it — apply. If you don’t — hold the line. Together, we’ll stay strong and keep Helping Our Own®.

If the shutdown delays pay, CGMA can provide interest-free loans to help with important needs like food, rent, utilities and childcare. Members may borrow up to their monthly Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) as needed.
