Extend compassion with a future gift. Including CGMA in your estate plans is a powerful way to leave a lasting legacy and show your commitment to Coast Guard members and families — those serving today and those who have served before.

You may support CGMA through:

• A bequest in your will or living trust

• A beneficiary designation, such as naming CGMA as a beneficiary of a retirement plan, life insurance policy, or bank or investment account

Your gift may be a specific dollar amount, a percentage, or the remainder of your estate or account after other provisions are made. These gifts help ensure CGMA can continue to provide trusted financial support for generations of Coast Guardsmen to come.

Donating stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or other securities can be a powerful and tax-efficient way to support CGMA. When you transfer appreciated securities directly to CGMA, you may avoid capital gains taxes and could be eligible for a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the gift.

How to donate stock:

1. Contact our Donor Care team at donations@mycgma.org or 703-875-0404 to request CGMA’s brokerage transfer instructions.

2. Ask your broker to transfer the shares electronically to CGMA’s brokerage account.

3. Notify CGMA of the stock name, number of shares, and expected transfer date so we can properly acknowledge your gift.

4. Retain your confirmation and acknowledgment letter for tax purposes.

We encourage you to consult your financial or tax advisor to determine whether a stock donation is right for you.

A tribute gift is a meaningful way to honor the service and dedication of an individual who has been a special part of your life while supporting the men and women of the U.S Coast Guard.

How to make a tribute gift:

1. Make your donation online or by mail.

3. When donating online, select “Dedicate this gift” and choose whether your gift is in honor of or in memory of someone.

4. Provide the honoree’s name and, if you wish, contact information for the person or family you would like notified of your gift.

5. CGMA will send a personalized acknowledgment to the honoree or their family, recognizing your thoughtful tribute.
